TIS_Coral_Trend for TradingView is a smoothing line built to solve the oldest problem with moving averages: the smoother you make them, the later they turn. This one stays smooth and still turns early, and it changes color the bar it does.

How It Works
A normal average smooths price once. This one runs price through six chained averages and then recombines the last four of them with a set of weights, some of them negative. Those negative weights are the whole point: they subtract the lag that the chain introduced, instead of just accepting it. The result is a line as clean as a long average but far closer to where price actually is.
Direction is read off the line itself. Every bar where it is higher than the previous one is rising, every bar where it is not is falling, and the line takes the color of that state. There is no separate crossover to wait for and no second line on the chart, which is what makes it readable at a glance on a busy chart.
When the state flips, the indicator marks it. The marker is not placed on the close of the bar: a long signal is drawn at the lowest low of the last ten bars, and a short signal at the highest high. That puts the triangle on the structure the move is turning from, which is the level you actually care about when you are sizing a stop.
Everything is evaluated on the bar close. Once a bar has closed, its color and its signal are final and never change.

Key Features
▸  Six chained averages recombined with lag cancelling weights, not a single smoothing pass
▸  Direction read from the line itself, with no second line and no crossover to wait for
▸  The line changes color on the same bar the state changes
▸  Signals anchored to the recent swing low or high rather than to the close
▸  Two settings only: one for how smooth, one for how close to price
▸  Trend state published as a single output, readable by other scripts
▸  Independent colors for the rising and falling states
▸  Alert conditions for both direction changes

Parameters
Parameter Description
Smoothing Period Length of the six chained averages. Higher values give a slower, smoother line with fewer direction changes.
Constant D Weight of the lag cancelling terms. Higher values pull the line closer to price and make it turn sooner, at the cost of more turns. Lower values keep it further away and steadier.
Color Up / Color Dn Colors the line takes while it is rising and while it is falling.

Who Is It For?
Traders who want one line on the chart that answers one question, and who have already given up on moving average crossovers for being too late. With only two settings it is quick to tune to an instrument and hard to over fit. It works as a standalone trigger and just as well as the direction filter under a faster entry tool, where all you take from it is the color.

Automation ready. TIS_Coral_Trend is fully compatible with our TIS_Automator system: select the up and down outputs as signal sources, or feed it the single trend output and let a positive value open longs and a negative one open shorts, set your target and stop, and the direction changes can be traded end to end without manual intervention.
